Hi Food teachers and keen cooks,

Starting a new year means different things for different people.  The spring term for teachers is massively important because it is when the final stages of exam work need to be delivered.  This year the new GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition brings an assessment of culinary skills which gives students the opportunity to show their talents in food preparation and serving.  I wish them good luck and enjoyment as they present their very best cooking.

New trends and new chefs will no doubt continue to inspire us and I hope that 2018 brings a focus on home cooking with less waste.  Maybe leftovers used imaginatively and midweek meals will be the stars of the year, saving time, effort and money.  I hope so.
